We all have friends where we get to see their true colors. Some of the colors are beautiful like an early sunrise over the ocean, while others are more ominous like the view of an approaching storm. Whatever the case may be, there are colors evident that help us to predict what the outcome will be. Dante’s Purgatory speaks of three specific colors, red, green, and white. Each of the colors written about play a significant role in understanding the purpose of the book and Dante’s travels through Purgatory.     As Dante begins his journey through Purgatory, he starts at the bottom of the mountain where all he can see above him is more rocks and paths to travers. His goal, however, is to meet Beatrice. He does not know what to expect at the top of the mountain, but as he nears the top, he comes across a group of three ladies one is white, another, green and the last red.             Dr. Samuel Gregg, an esteemed professor and writer, gave a lecture at Faulkner University regarding Natural Law. It was through provoking and informative. I did not understand the concept of Natural Law in the sense that it is human’s ability to make interpretations about the world through objective moral reasoning. We can reason because God has given every person the ability to logically think through things to come to conclusions that are moral. We have the ability to conclude what things are good and what things are evil in the world. He stated that, “Good is to be done and evil is to be avoided.”              The point of Natural Law is to promote human flourishing.
